The NCAA of the music industry
Student-run record labels on campuses nationwide, building artists and executives with real stats.
Why we exist
NCEG builds the collegiate equivalent of the NCAA for the music industry: a national network of student-run record labels that gives aspiring artists, executives and music entrepreneurs real-world experience, measurable career stats and the professional networks to build sustainable careers.
College athletes get structure, competition and a pathway to the pros. NCEG gives student artists and music entrepreneurs the same thing.
Discovered here first
Every NCEG event and every piece of content puts the next generation of music superstars and executives on display, so fans discover them first and the industry finds them ready.
One league. Teams on every campus.
The League
NCEG national sets the standards, runs the curriculum and keeps the stats.
Teams
Each campus team runs its own record label, with four departments and elected officers.
Members
Students join a department, complete 12 lessons over a season and graduate as Executives.
Five audiences, one pipeline
- Students: members, team leaders and artists.
- Fans: people who want to find new artists first.
- Industry professionals: people who sign, hire and invest.
- Universities: deans, faculty advisers and partner schools.
- Supporters: sponsors, donors, grant funders and our board.
Clear lines
Not a school club
A national network with standards and stats.
Not a talent show
We build careers and executives, not one-night winners.
Not pay-to-play
Dues support the league and your team. No one buys a roster spot.
Not exploitative
We help young creatives own and monetize their work.
