These terms govern your use of the NCEG website and members area (the Site), run by Collegiate Entertainers Group, Inc. (National Collegiate Entertainers Group), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (NCEG, we). By using the Site or creating an account, you agree to these terms, the Member Code of Conduct and the Privacy Notice. If you don't agree, don't use the Site.
1. Eligibility
- You must be 18 or older to create an account.
- Member accounts are for students on an NCEG team, or at a school without a team yet who want to start one.
- Give accurate information and keep it current. One account per person.
2. Accounts and approval
- NCEG approves new accounts. We may decline, suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the Code of Conduct, or that doesn't belong to an eligible member.
- Keep your password private. You're responsible for activity on your account. Tell us at once at chapters@nationalceg.org if you think someone else has used it.
- Don't share your login or let anyone else use your account.
3. Your content
You own what you create. This covers the work, links, notes, profile details and other material you submit (your content).
- You give NCEG a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, copy, display and share your content inside the Site, with your team, league coaches and graders, to run the program: grading, badges, stats and the directory.
- If you opt in to #ShowYourWork, you also let NCEG feature that submission publicly, on our site and social channels, with credit to you. You can withdraw future use by emailing us. We aren't required to remove posts already published.
- Photo and video of you from NCEG events are covered by the separate media release you may choose at sign-up.
- You confirm that you have the rights to what you submit, including permission from collaborators, and that it doesn't infringe anyone else's rights.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Break the law, the Code of Conduct, or your school's rules through the Site.
- Upload or link to content that is unlawful, infringing, harassing, sexually explicit, hateful or violent.
- Access, or try to access, other members' accounts, private profiles or other teams' private information.
- Scrape, copy or export member data, or use automated tools against the Site.
- Impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your team, role or rank.
- Interfere with the Site's security or operation, or upload malware.
- Use the Site to advertise, solicit members commercially or recruit for a business without NCEG's written approval.
5. NCEG's content and brand
The NCEG name, logos, curriculum, lessons, badges, challenge codes, rankings and Site design belong to NCEG or its licensors. Members may use them for their own participation in the program. Any other use, including commercial use, merchandise, or copying the curriculum, needs our written permission.
6. Copyright complaints
If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright, email apps@nationalceg.org with: the work, where it appears on the Site, your contact details, and a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use isn't authorized. We remove infringing content, and we close the accounts of repeat infringers.
7. Donations, dues and payments
Members pay dues once a season. Dues support both their campus team and the national league. Donations and dues are processed by third parties such as Give Butter, under their terms. NCEG doesn't store card details. Donation receipts and tax-deductibility statements come from those processors and NCEG. Dues and donations are non-refundable unless the law requires otherwise or NCEG agrees in writing.
8. Other services
The Site runs on Wix and links to other services, including Google Classroom, Discord, Give Butter, Instagram and streaming platforms. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and NCEG isn't responsible for them.
9. No guarantees
NCEG is an educational program. We don't promise record deals, placements, jobs, income, scholarships or fame. Rankings, badges and feedback reflect the league's judgment and aren't professional certifications.
The Site is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, NCEG disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
10. Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, NCEG and its directors, officers, staff and volunteers aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or opportunities, arising from your use of the Site. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid NCEG in the 12 months before the claim, or $100.
11. Indemnity
You agree to cover NCEG's losses and reasonable legal costs if a claim against NCEG arises from your content, your misuse of the Site, or your breaking these terms.
12. Ending your account
You can close your account at any time by emailing chapters@nationalceg.org. NCEG may suspend or close accounts as these terms and the Code of Conduct describe. Sections 3, 5, 9, 10, 11 and 13 continue to apply after an account closes.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts in Fulton County, Georgia, unless the law requires otherwise.
14. Changes
We may update these terms. When we make significant changes, we'll post the new date and notify members by email or in the members area. Continuing to use the Site after that means you accept the updated terms.
